Hockey federation suspended!!

The Indian Olympic association suspended the Indian hockey federation for activities that bought discredit to the nation and decided to form an ad hoc committee to run the affairs of the game. The unanimous decision was taken at a meeting of the IOA's executive committee, convened to discuss the future of Hockey administration following a sting operation by a nes channel on IHF secretary K.Jothikumaran. IOA president was authorized to decided on five member panel until all the issues were resolved and a amicable solution was reached.

This is the second time that such an ad hoc body was formed and the last time it was formed was in the year 1975. Mr Kalmadi admitted to the fact that the Indian Olympic association had to intervent because of increased pressure from International Hockey Federation. The members, who called for some drastic action, were unhappy with the fact that India failed to makei it to the olympics for the first time in 80 years.

The gerenal secretary of the International Hockey federation had sent a letter to the indian Olympic association urging it to take prior action to guarantee the administration of the Indian Hockey Organisation and India hocey function properly without any mishandling and manipulation. THis type of a happenings should definitely not be encourages and must be avoidd in the future. If you ask me, Those guys should be banned or even better out in jails. Hockey in the national game of the country and it is such a disgrace that such an incident should have happened in our country. All we can do is to make sure that such a kind of incident which has put the nation to shame does not happen again.

The government must put up a commission to make sure that the accounts of the federatrions are being auditted and are accounted for so that there is no one manupulating the accoutns and there is no favoritism

Perfect holiday

My idea of a great weekend would be lazing about home, having good home made food, watching TV (esp. sports), play cricket or shuttle. I don't strain myself to do something that involves putting some effort from my part and so I guess that pretty much rules out traveling, partying or such stuff that most people find interesting . I guess thats pretty much me. I have done enough thinking for the day.

So guess i am much of a Cheap Holidays kind of a person. Family Holidays also catch my imagination and i love to spend time with my kith and kin. otherwise i love to browse the internet at holiday time. my favorite pass time is to look up the net for informative stuff.sites like wikipedia have always been my favorite!.so that is me. i am the guy who likes to chill out at home and watch the television and take rest. sipping a cool lemonade or coconut juice in the beach of Caribbean would also be the best time of my life!

Harbhajan making up!!

After the acrimony at MOhali, Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh engaged in a public display of affection during the announcement of adjudicator Farokh Engineer's verdict in New delhi. Harbhjan was banned by the Indian Premier League for the remainder of the Twney twenty tournament for slapping Sreesanth. And we thought Cricket was a gentle man's game. There was no reason why Harbhajan had to slap Sreesanth. The records say that Sreesanth went to say "hard luck mate" to Singh and I dont think there is nothing provacative about saying HARD LUCK MATE?.

But anyway harbhajan Singh whatever he did was done is a fit of rage and there was nothing intended in what ever he did. Anyway the matter is closed right now and Bhajji cant play the rest of the Indian Premier League matches. And the biggest surprise was when Lal Chand rajput was also fined for not preventing Harbhajan from hitting Sreesanth. What ever has happened. All we can do is to look out for the rest of the matches and have awesome cricket played. And there is no reason why we should all be sick or sad about bhajji's ban. After all Mumbai has won their match against Kolkata Knight riders without the turbanator.

Celbrities taking on the small screen have become a regular ordeal nowadays. Apart from these two super stars, macho man Salman Khan has also agreed to host a Game show for sony entertainment television with a whooping prize money of 10 crore rupees. KBC offered an prize amount of 1 crore, and Kya aap panchvi pass se tez hai offers 5 crores. Clearly Salman wants to be on the top of both these shows. Akshay Kumar has also jumped into the band wagon with the new reality show that is to be launched on the lines of fear factor. It is a dare to do show and it seems he has also signed up for hosting the show for a whooping pay. COnsidering the fact that his market is doing very well, it is obvious that he would have demended a huge amount. Another upset for deccan chargers!!

The game which was supposed to be exciting and interesting was one of the biggest disapoointments of the Indian Premier League. The Deccan Chargers led by V.V.S.Laxman was believed to be on of the strongest teams of the Indian Premier League with the likes of hitters like Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds, Shahid Afridi et al, but it miserably fails to stand up to its reputation. The team lost its first match to Kolkata Knight riders, but atleast that was a fight to the finish. Today's match was a complete disappointment with no one playing their role correctly. Rohit Sharma was the only consolation for the matured game he played and was successful in bringing a considerable total to the team. But that was not at all enough to stop a firing virendar Shewag from the Delhi Daredevils. He came up to the crease, set the grpund on fire with a quick half century and led the Delhi daredevils to an awesome victory over the Deccan Challengers. We really can not say what went wrong for the Deccan Challengers. The team contains all very experienced and talented batsmen and bowlers. But something is missing. And the only thing that I can guess is the team spirit and they are yet to gel with each other. I have always loved the way Gilly plays and this is a big disappointment for me. I think Hydreadbad should get together and their camaraderie should improve so that they can put up a better show in the games in the following days to come.

Awesome match!

Today was the match between Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab team and this was an awesome match. The teams were literally hitting out and crowds completely went crazy. The match completely belonged to Hussey who took the match away from the Kings 11 punjab headed by Yuvraj Singh and brought by PRiety Zinta along with Ness Wadia. Dhoni dint fire today but the captaincy was commendable. The bowling attack was ruthlessly attacked by agressive batsman on both sides of the game. Then there were the beautiful cheer leaders. I guess they went tired dancing to almost every other ball bowled as everything was hit to the fence. Indian premier League has lived up to its name and is definitely more exciting and interesting than the INdian cricket League. Kudos. I dont know what, but these pitches used for the Indian Premier League seems to be pretty short in size. Either that or it is the batsmen who have tunrned exceptionally aggressive. It remains to see if the Indian Premier League is going to be a success story after all the initial critical comments on it.But no one gives a damn about it now. The matches are cool and the players are providing awesome entertainment.

IPL starts!!

The long hyped and made a big deal about Indian premier league has been kicked off and the first match was played between the royal challengers and the Kolkata Knight riders. Before I tell you about the match, I wil tell you about the teams. The first team is the Royal Challengers form Bangalore. This is the team headed by Rahul Dravid, Former captain of the INdian cricket team nad is being sponsored by liquor barron and darling of models, Vijay Mallaya. Since the Kingfisher group is involved there is a lot of money that is being involved and the team is expected to do excellent work on the field. Then there is the Kolkata Knight Riders that is headed By Sourav ganguly the prince of Kolkata. The team is being sponsored by Badhshah of bollywoof. Shah Rukh Khan. Now that I have told yo about the teams, the match started at 8 in the evening and I am not even interested about talking about the match mainly because it was a one sided match with the Royal challengers completely surrendering to the great talents of the Knight riders. Mc Cullum had earlier devastated the bowling attack and that was the end of it. So we will talk about the other match tomorrow. Until then See ya.

Well I have never been fond of Akshay Kumar as I am now. Thought I found his Khiladi series very interesting to watch, I some hoe had this hatred towards him. But that has all changesd now. The guy is the man of the moment at bolly wood. With back to back hits, he is rising on to be on of the most reliable stars on bollywood. But this is not a reason why I like him now. But because of his histrionics. His teaming up with Priya dhrashan is one of the most greatest decisions he has ever taken. His films in the recent past like Namsatey London, Heyy baby, Bhool Bhulaia are run away hits and his graph is at the top right now. This is a time when starts such as Salmah Khan are struggling to give hits and this guy comes up with comedy flicks and is going nuts in the bollywood world. This guy is sure to become the bollywood badhshah. And there is more. He is the brand ambassador of the Indian Premier Leagues Delhi teams named Delhi Daredevil and true to the name of the team, he is the perfect ambassador as he is a dare devil himself. Actually he is the devil incarnate. As long as he gives good films and cool numbers, we would love him. Way to go.

As I sat up in the middle of the night i felt like writing this poem. Read this and post your comments.

As she sat up in bed, a single tear straining her cheek. Her thoughs in an incoherant mess. She vaguely remembered all the friends who suddenly ceased to exist. All those times spent in their company. All that incessant chatter than used to take place. All gone.
All that remained was a big void and bad memories. Memories off all those bad judgements she made..all the hearts she broke..memories that cut her to the very soul.
As she came back to the present she realized..
The more she ran away from her past, the more it caught up with her.
The more she tried to change herself the more people reminded her of her mistakes.
She had come a long way since then, she had changed..
But the world still resolutely held on to who she once was..
She searched the black depths of the night, for that one person who believed in her..the one who would accept her for what was was..the one person she could reach out to..that one person who wouldnt let her down..that one person she realized she would never find.
As the heavy night decended on her, she drifted off into a trance....

India has arrived

India has seen some major acquirements all over the world in the past few months. The starting of it all was the major step forward by the TATA steel in acquired Corrus. The second major deal was when Lakshmi Mittal’s Mittal steel acquired shares in Arcelor to become the fifth largest producer of steel. Then there was the deal where Caritor acquire Keene and was re christened as Keene International to acquire a global brand name. And Vijay Malaya has succeeded in making India as one of the top destinations in Liquor manufacture. His united Breweries is making waves in this field. Now the recent in the event of acquisitions comes from the TATA group. TATA motors have successfully acquired Jaguar motors. This is hailed as one of the most greatest event in the automobile industry atleast as far as TATA motors is concerned. Jaguar is one of the leading players in the automobile industry. They also have some motorsport history and have especially been successful in Le Mans 24 hours racing. They won in 1951 and 1953 with the C-Type, then in 1955, 1956 and 1957 with the D-Type. After a gap they started winning regularly from 1987, and with increased factory backing the team won Le Mans in 1988 and 1990. They however had a disastrous formula one effort. But ultimately that is not this is about. These recent acquisitions has shown that India has arrived on the global scene. Be it Information technology, Steel, Automobile, India has it all and our companies are making us proud. Way to go India.

In search of the King Cobra

Am already seven posts old and I still haven’t posted something on wild life. Well personally am a wild life buff. And I love the shows on national geographic channel, discovery and the most important of all Animal planet. A few days back I had the opportunity to view one of the most exciting shows ever I have seen in my life. Austin Stevens is pretty much a favorite host of mine and this time he is in the jungles of South India Looking out for the most venomous snakes of all time – The King Cobra. The series sets out with Stevens setting out in search of the king Cobra but to his hard luck he is not able to sight even one for almost 50 days. Then there comes the day when he sights the nest of a King Cobra and just as he goes near the nest, the snake pops out from no where and it was blood chilling to see the snake rise up and come towards him. Well, I don’t know what I would have done but Stevens goes ahead touched the Snake on the head and says this was his life time ambition. Wow. But he does not stop with that, he takes the Snake bu the tail. And shows the viewers the amazing length of the Snake. It was the best episode of TV with teeth on Animal planet. If you have missed the episode go to you tube and check for name “In search of the King Cobra” and this video will pop up immediately.

The site which spreads news!!

i have been a blogger since april of 2008. and my blogs are fairly well read and discussed by my readers. but these readers were very localized and i found it difficult to attract people all over the world to read my blogs. this has been my dream for long.

when i tried to publicise my blog through public forums, i found that the response was pretty poor. this was when i found this site with arguably the best blogging athmosphere that i have seen in a long time. the site has more than 1300 unique articles which are made public for all to read. this is a paradise for all the readers who love unique content. also bloggers can make their views seen and discussed by the world. this is a great site indeed!

This is what I found on a web site which promised to spread news about blogs and asked for a sum of 25$ as a fee. I am not too sure if I would like to join this. But let us see. I will have to make a decision.

Back to back movies!!

Today has been a lousy ay with no work to do for me. This is when I decided to watch back to back films. I wanted to make sure that I watched atleast five films for the day. So here goes. I started off with Butter fly effect. This is a sci-fi thriller and was completely worth the time. It moves at an interesting pace and made sure that I was up all the time and it got into my list of all time favorites. If you had not checked it out, then do it right away. Then I sat down to watch The 40 year old virgin. Though it sounds weird that I switched over from thriller to comedy, I thought that since it was a Steve Harrel movie, it would not be a bad decision. But believe me, it was every bit a bad decision. The movie is not so bad as I sound. But it is not a very good movie either. And if you are expecting a super comedy for the presence of Stave Harrel, then you are not going to see what you expect to see. Anyway from the virgin movie, I shifter over to Eternal sunshine on the spotless mind. Though I have heard that this movie is great to watch, I don’t know why, But I fell asleep in the course of the movie. I am quite sure I was not tired. But frankly the movie was boring. Either that or I think I would have breaked under the stress of watching two movies back to back. Anyway I dint finish watching the eternal sunshine on the spotless mind. So I think I should sit up and watch that movie some other time. There I have given you one liners of three movies to look out for. The spiritual trip

I have been born for 20 years and this is the first time I am visiting a city north of the country I have been born in. Me and my father have planned on a trip to Shiridi. The trip starts from Chennai. We take a train from Chennai to Mumbai on an air deccan flight and then land up at Mumbai and take a taxi to Shiridi Through Nashik. We started off from Chennai and the flight journey took less than an hour to reach Mumbai. We have planned to come back to Chennai from Mumbai in a train and I heard someone say that ir will take almost 36 hours to come back to Chennai from Mumbai in a train. Now that’s technology for you. Anyway we landed up at Mumbai and took a taxi to Shiridi. The journey was for almost 4 hours and we had the chance to drive through some of the best green fields I have ever seen in my life. It was such a beautiful experience to look through the windows of the car into the green fields in the villages we were passing through. Especially Nashik was a pretty good sight to see. And after four hours of travel, we reached our destination and got to see Sri Sai baba and then stayed over for the night, mainly because my dad does not prefer night traveling. The following day we started off back to Mumbai and that’s where I had some major fun at India gate traveling into the Arabian sea on a ferry. Then I did some shopping and then started back to the station to catch the train back home. This was one of the most strenuous experience of my life. 36 hours in the train. Damn it. So that is my experience on the trip to Shiridi.

The hutch dog

Today’s post is about something that we have loved watching. It is one of the most cutest things on earth. No, we are not talking about Rakhi savant here. This is about the Hutch (Hutch is now Vodafone!!. Hee!! dog. The dog that we have loved watching in the ads. The dog that follows the kid in the ad. Well for all the uninitiated, the Dog is of the breed Pug. Pugs usually have the black mask on its face. Well initially I checked Wiki for the Hutch dog and that is where I found that this breed of dog is known as the Pug. These dogs are usually small in size and have a wrinkled face and that is what makes these dogs as cute as they are. They usually come in colors of grey or black. These dogs have shiny skin. Vodafone is supposedly having three pugs reserved specially for their advertisement campaigns. They are taken care by the company itself and the dogs serve their purpose and have successfully made the brand popular with their cute looks. This proves that you don’t need a Shah Rukh Khan or Deepika Padukone to sell your product. All you have to do is to make an advertisement which will capture the mind of the audience watching the ad. But as the tradition in Indian ad industry goes, people are sticking to the bollywood fraternity to sell their products. Hope this changes in the future and the Indian Audience are exposed to sweet, cute and interesting ads.

The story behind IPL

For the first post, its pretty much tough to think of a topic. But I just have thought of the ultimate post to start with. The Indian premier league or the IPL. Lets get down to where it all started. Initially when Sharad Pawar took over the board of control for cricket in India or the BCCI, there was a row between him and the Zee network over the telecast rights for matches and ultimately this lead to the formation of the Indian Cricket League or the ICl, which was started by the Zee group. Initially a lot pf players had comfirmed participation in this league and the BCCI had said that this cannot be accepted and threatened to impose ban on players who took to the ICL. But with the kind of money it offered, many players took to it and that’s when there was a reversal in the ideology of the BCCI and alas came the Indian Premier league.

This league offered more money and since this is the official cricketing body, the league was approved by the ICC and many international players took to it. And thus many players who were with the ICl initially took over to IPL. This is the story of the IPL. With many international players in the fray it is going to be an interesting venture to see how the league is going to turn up and especially with 8 teams in the fray with a mixture of international players in each. There are 8 teams playing in the league categorized based on the cities : Mumbai, Mohali, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hydreabad, Kolkata and Jaipur. There are a lot of big names who won this teams. Shah rukh khan, priety zinta and Vijay mallaya each have a team here. So the money will speak in the teams.

Hello all, From now on this is an all new blog. This blog is for anything and everything. This blog will contain everything from creative information, reviews, useful information, opinions, ideas, jokes and all that stuff that would make this blog a great place for fun and enjoyment.
