India has seen some major acquirements all over the world in the past few months. The starting of it all was the major step forward by the TATA steel in acquired Corrus. The second major deal was when Lakshmi Mittal’s Mittal steel acquired shares in Arcelor to become the fifth largest producer of steel. Then there was the deal where Caritor acquire Keene and was re christened as Keene International to acquire a global brand name. And Vijay Malaya has succeeded in making India as one of the top destinations in Liquor manufacture. His united Breweries is making waves in this field. Now the recent in the event of acquisitions comes from the TATA group. TATA motors have successfully acquired Jaguar motors. This is hailed as one of the most greatest event in the automobile industry atleast as far as TATA motors is concerned. Jaguar is one of the leading players in the automobile industry. They also have some motorsport history and have especially been successful in Le Mans 24 hours racing. They won in 1951 and 1953 with the C-Type, then in 1955, 1956 and 1957 with the D-Type. After a gap they started winning regularly from 1987, and with increased factory backing the team won Le Mans in 1988 and 1990. They however had a disastrous formula one effort. But ultimately that is not this is about. These recent acquisitions has shown that India has arrived on the global scene. Be it Information technology, Steel, Automobile, India has it all and our companies are making us proud. Way to go India.
